Shareholders of Essex Corp. [KEYW], a supplier of signal processing products and services to the United States intelligence community, yesterday approved the proposed sale of their company to Northrop Grumman [NOC].
Northrop Grumman, which earlier this year had to refile its acquisition plans with the U.S. government after the initial waiting period expired without approval, announced the planned $580 million purchase in November (Defense Daily, Nov. 13). Essex said it expects the acquisition to close in the first quarter.
