Army to brief industry on TACAWS plans

ARMY TO BRIEF INDUSTRY ON TACAWS PLANS. The Army intends to brief industry May 27 at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., on its plans for The Army Combined Arms Weapon System (TACAWS) technology program, which supports design of missiles capable of engaging both rotary-wing and ground armored vehicles. The Army MICOM Research, Development and Engineering Center in interested in the development of technologies which will support the design of missiles capable of engaging rotary-wing and ground armored vehicles at extended ranges beyond seven kilometers, according to a May 12 Commerce Business Daily notice.

TACAWS is an in-house technology base program designed to push the technology base in the design of fire-and-forget, multi-target, multi-role, multi-platform missile compatible with the TOW and Hellfire family of launchers.
