Leisure Report, May, 2008
Food at Yo Sushi's Poland Street and Farringdon Road outlets will now be served with a technological extra: a Nintendo DS gaming console.
For the duration of their meals, diners will be offered the Nintendo consoles preloaded with 'Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends', a popular title, as part of a new deal between the Japanese food concept and 505 Games.
The anime-inspired, cookery simulation game requires players to use the DS's stylus to prepare ingredients for a number of dishes, undertaking a range of techniques including chopping, mashing, dicing and frying. Players onsite can compete with each other using WiFi connectivity.
The promotion kicked off on 14 April and will be rolled out nationwide over the coming months.
Ian Howe, managing director of 505 Games, said: "We're overwhelmed with Yo Sushi's enthusiasm and support for our Cooking Mama 2 campaign.
"This is going to be an exciting and creative campaign and we're looking forward to getting some great feedback from groups of family sushi diners across the UK."
