Miskien het die Afrikaanse letterkunde nog nie genoegsaam aandag gegee aan sy digkuns nie, omdat ons dikwels genre-bevange is en skepties is oor 'n skrywer wat van een genre na 'n ander beweeg.
Die roemer, die wyn, die karaf (by 'n sewentiende eeuse stillewe) Uit watter stofbedekte bottel is die karaf gevul? Karaf staan buikig langs 'n skottel: sy oesjaar ewiglik verhul.
Die gedig uit Dryfhout is 'n klein juweel.
Uit die gevormde kuns is daar inderdaad kuns te maak!
