Singapore Airlines passenger may on certain flights can now use computer office applications including PDF Reader and Media Player by connecting their own USB devices to their in-flight LCD television monitor. The enhanced entertainment service is offered across all three classes on the carrieris Airbus A380 routes n from Singapore to London and Sydney n and on its 12 Boeing 777-300ER routes Frankfurt, Zurich, Milan, Barcelona, Sydney, Seoul, Melbourne Moscow, Houston, San Francisco, Paris and Hong Kong. Photo Viewer is also available for those with digital cameras, and each passengeris 23i LCD screen is at 1280 x 768 pixel high-resolution. Other enhancements planned for the coming months include an interactive ZagatSurvey Restaurant and Hotel Guide allowing passengers to undertake some early research on where to eat ahead of arrival. Other entertainment on the in-flight system includes more than 100 films, 180 TV programs and 700 CDs worth of music and audio books. Apr 21, 2008

Singapore Airlines Engineering signed a five-year fleet management program agreement with V Australia for maintenance of seven Boeing 777-300ERs. Contract is valued at S$90 million ($66.4 million) and calls for transit and light maintenance checks, defect rectification, cabin maintenance, spares support, component repair and overhaul and logistics management. Work will take place in Brisbane, Sydney and Los Angeles. Apr 22, 2008
