Ceradyne

Ceradyne received a $41.1 million order for ceramic body armor inserts from the U.S. Army's Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. The Enhanced Side Ballistic Inserts will be delivered starting in June and running through September. Costa Mesa's Ceradyne develops, manufactures and markets advanced technical ceramic products and components for defense, industrial, automotive/diesel and commercial applications. Apr 1, 2008

L-3 Communications

An L-3 Communications unit will create a video system for the Marine Corps that will give commanders feedback on training exercises. The three-year contract is worth $326 million. Mar 31, 2008
