Cessna Citation

Engine Problems Reported Before UK Citation Crash. The crew of a Cessna Citation I that came down soon after takeoff from Biggin Hill Airport, southeast of London, on Sunday is understood to have reported engine vibration before the accident, which killed all five on board. A pilot flying nearby reported hearing the Citation-S/N 500-0287 and registered VP-BGE-make a [sup.3]mayday[sup.2] call before being cleared to return to land. One of two pilots aboard the Citation reported the jet was [sup.3]going down[sup.2] before it hit an unoccupied house about three miles from the airport and close to the extended runway centerline. Andrew Walters, chief executive of Biggin Hill owner Regional Airports, confirmed to BBC Radio that the Citation crew had advised its intention to return to the airfield. Apr 2, 2008

CFM International, Ural Airlines, Airbus

CFM International reached a deal with Ural Airlines for CFM56-5B/3 Tech Insertion engines to power seven Airbus A320s slated for delivery in 2012. Apr 4, 2008

EasyJet, GB Airways

EasyJet said it successfully completed the operational integration of GB Airways following the transition of 15 GB aircraft into its new EU-Ops Air Operators Certificate. It is the first major airline to operate under the new European certificate. Apr 2, 2008

Finnair, Embraer

Finnair announced the delivery of its eighth Embraer E-190 Saturday. It flies 10 E-170s as well. Apr 1, 2008

Iberia, Aurora Airlines

Iberia signed an agreement with Slovenia's Aurora Airlines to provide component MRO and inspection services on MD-80 aircraft at its Madrid shop. Contract expires in December 2011. Apr 4, 2008

KLM Engineering

KLM Engineering & Maintenance reached agreement with the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau to perform base maintenance on 747-400s. JCAB also granted KLM E&M a two-year line maintenance extension. Work will take place in Amsterdam. Mar 31, 2008

S7 Airlines

S7 Airlines will add four A320s to its fleet during its summer schedule, which began yesterday. First already has been delivered and will begin flying from Moscow Domodedovo to Barnaul and Krasnodar this month. A320s will replace Tu-154s. It will use A319s on a thrice-weekly DME-Dublin service beginning April 27. Mar 31, 2008

SAS Group, Bombardier

SAS Group has sold six Bombardier DHC-8-Q400s to Philippine Airlines and has sold and delivered one to Swedish aviation company Nordflyg, which will use the aircraft on cargo services. However, SAS said its sale of four Q400s to Austrian Airlines Group has not been completed despite an announcement to the contrary from AAG. It said there has been considerable interest from around the world in its grounded turboprops. Apr 3, 2008
