Carnival Tightens Agent Discount Requirements. Carnival Cruise Lines is revamping eligibility requirements for travel agents to qualify for reduced fares on its ships. Effective immediately, an agent must make a minimum of five Carnival bookings within a year's time to qualify for a discounted rate. Jan 10, 2008

Carnival Launches New Ad Campaign. Carnival Cruise Lines is putting a fresh face on Fun Ship cruising. The cruise line is launching a multimillion-dollar branding campaign through new TV spots and other marketing materials. The first in a series of 30-second TV ads debuts Monday, built around a theme of "Let the Fun Begin." The spots feature many of Carnival's upgrades and improvements, such as its revamped Fantasy-class ships, while displaying images of guests enjoying themselves on Carnival ships. The new print campaign will encompass full-page images gleaned from the various TV spots. There will also be a new travel agent kit, which will be sent out early this year.
