Goodrich has landed an extended landing gear services contract from Continental Airlines that Goodrich says covers virtually all of the Boeing aircraft in Continental's fleet. The contract extension is expected to generate $49 million in revenue over the next five years, says Goodrich, which is the manufacturer of the gear. The extension covers Continental's 737-700s, -800s and -900s, as well as its 767s and 777. Goodrich already was handling the airline's 757-200s and 737 Classics. The MRO work will be done at Goodrich's facility near Miami. Continental operates a fleet of more than 350 Boeing aircraft, according to AirGuideAircraft Fleets. 7/14/2008

Goodrich Corporation has been selected by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation to supply its new Vigor Health Usage and Management System for the S-76D(TM) executive transport helicopter. Goodrich's Sensors and Integrated Systems unit in Vergennes, Vt. will design, develop and produce the system. VHUMS is a new family of lower cost, full functionality health usage management systems (HUMS) optimized for mid-size helicopters. The system will monitor the entire helicopter mechanical drive train from the engines to the rotor system, flight manual exceedances, and hundreds of aircraft system signals. The advanced information provided by VHUMS alerts operators to take preventative maintenance steps that avoid costly, lengthy repairs in the future. 7/14/2008
