The US Air Force will demonstrate the F-22 Raptor fighter jet at an international airshow for the first time next month. The jets will depart for the U.K.'s Farnborough Airshow on July 8. Officials said the demonstration will show international allies and attendees the plane's capabilities. Unlike past years, there will be no officially designated representative of the president of the United States this year, according to the Aerospace Industries Association. 7/3/2008

Aircraft Solutions, Bombardier

Aircraft Solutions announced the sale of two Bombardier CRJ200LRs to Sky Swallows and two -200LRs to Avmax International Aircraft Leasing. 7/3/2008

Bell-Boeing

Several companies are working on refining concepts for the Army's large cargo rotorcraft. The US Army has awarded contracts to a Bell-Boeing team for the Quad Tilt Rotor, to Karem Aircraft/Lockheed Martin team for the Optimum Speed Tilt Rotor, and to Sikorsky for the coaxial-rotor X2 High Speed Lifter. 7/2/2008

Boeing

Boeing delivered 126 commercial aircraft in the second quarter, up 10.5% from the 114 delivered in the three months ended June 30, 2007. Deliveries comprised 100 737NGs (compared to 86 in the year-ago quarter), five 747s (compared to four), three 767s (three) and 18 777s (21). Year-to-date deliveries totaled 241, up 9.5% from 220. 7/3/2008

Boeing, Sunwing Airlines

Boeing announced delivery of a Boeing 737-800 to Canada's Sunwing Airlines. Aircraft will be operated on lease from Aviation Capital Group. Sunwing will lease a second from ACG next year, at which time its fleet will comprise 15 -800s. 7/4/2008

Porter Airlines, Bombardier

Porter Airlines said it plans to double its fleet to 12 Bombardier DHC-8-Q400s by year end and will operate 20 aircraft by 2010. 7/2/2008
