BAE Systems, General Dynamics

BAE Systems and General Dynamics hope lawmakers award full funding for their XM-1203 Non Line-of-Sight Cannon. The cannon is one of eight proposed Manned Ground Vehicles under the Army's Future Combat Systems program. General Dynamics executive Robert Sorge says the company is optimistic about Future Combat Systems and pointed out that a proposed cut in funding is the smallest in the past four years. Jun 16, 2008

Hogg Robinson Group

Switching UK defense business travel booking to a joint venture between the Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) and IT specialists Capgemini, will save the Ministry of Defence (MOD) [pounds sterling]35m ($68m) per year. Britain[sup.1]s armed forces spend a vast [pounds sterling]300m annually between the Royal Navy, Air Force and Army as well as MOD personnel, bringing the total users to a potential 300,000 and the new service, known as Defense Travel, aims to replace all paper-based processes. HRG and Capgemini will run the facility on behalf of the MOD following a trial involving some 6,000 members of the Armed Forces in a number of countries and units. Jun 18, 2008
