Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northwest has officially opened its doors to guests and to celebrate has a weekday opening rate of RMB960 ($140) and RMB888 for weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) starting from 28 May to 31 July. The hotel has 258 guest rooms and is located on No.1 Jingshun Road, near the northwest corner of Jiangtai Road. Courtyard by Marriott Beijing Northeast is within 20min driving distance from Beijing Capital International Airport and is positioned between Lido Commercial District and Wangjing High Tech Park. All guestrooms will feature 32-inch LCD flat screen TV, high-speed Internet access and luxurious bathroom amenities. The 24-hour fitness center located on the 4th floor features an indoor swimming pool, while the 24-hour Business Center is situated next to the function rooms. The largest function room is the Grand Salon totaling 300 sq m (3,228 sq ft) of meeting room space. Wi-Fi is available throughout the public area of the hotel. Jun 20, 2008

Marriott Wardman Park has undergone a comprehensive renovation following $100m investment by its owner The JBG Companies. Located in the business area of Washington DC and close to the national airport, the property is the largest convention hotel in the city with 1,316 guest rooms and 195,000 sq ft (1,812 sq m) of flexible convention and exhibition space. Guestrooms in the hotel have been refurbished and will include 32-inch high-definition LG plasma screen televisions. They have connections meaning guests can plug in their laptops and the television screen can be split so they can watch TV while checking their e-mail or browsing the internet. Renovations have also given the meeting rooms, lobbies and restaurant and bar a new look. The hotelis 195,000 sq ft meeting and exhibition space is comprised of a 95,000 sq ft exhibition hall, 30,000 sq ft ballroom, 49 flexible smaller rooms and two private executive boardrooms. The new Thurgood Marshall Ballroom offers 10,000 sq ft space for high-end social events. Wi-Fi internet connection and audiovisual facilities are available in all meeting rooms. Jun 17, 2008

Marriott International has opened a 333-room hotel in Ningbo, China under an agreement reached with Haicheng Investment Development and is offering a special opening rate of CNY698 ($100) including breakfast. Located in the cityis central business district, the Ningbo Marriott Hotel is within a 38-storey building that also contains office space, and near restaurants and entertainment spots. Guests can drive to Shanghai in 2.5hrs now that the Hangzhou Bay Bridge is completed.The hotel features three restaurants, a fitness centre and indoor swimming pool, and will soon be opening a spa. For the corporate traveller, it includes a business centre, executive lounge and lobby concierge desk. For conferences and social events, the property has 1,188 sq m (1279 sq ft) of flexible space, including a 720 sq m ballroom which can be divided into eight sections, and six additional meeting rooms.
