ASIG reached agreement with Air Canada to provide ramp and cabin cleaning services at Tampa International. ASIG also provides Air Canada with fueling. 6/25/2008

The Canadian government should allow foreign companies to establish domestic airlines within the country, according to a report by the Competition Policy Review Panel. The move would end the duopoly of Air Canada and WestJet Airlines Ltd. and potentially lower fares while offering an alternative to cabotage rules by requiring airlines to maintain a labor force, headquarters and operations in Canada. Air Canada said it would support the concept if there were reciprocal benefits, but WestJet opposed it. 6/27/2008
