Atlas Air, DHL Express
Atlas Air Worldwide ended 2007 with 32 Boeing 747Fs and said it has made pre-delivery deposit payments on five Boeing 747-8Fs for delivery in 2010. It said it plans to take delivery of an additional seven 747-8Fs by the end of 2011, though it has not yet announced firm financing on those aircraft. The company said that this year it will acquire a -400F from an undisclosed operator and will transition one of Atlas's -400Fs from another contract to DHL Express services. It will take delivery of a 747-400BCF in the fourth quarter to be used for non-DHL business. Feb 28, 2008
Atlas Air, DHL Express
Atlas Air Worldwide said yesterday that it has reached agreement to expand its ACMI relationship with DHL Express, which last year purchased a 49% equity interest and a 25% voting interest in Polar and also gained access to Atlas freighters on an ACMI basis. Atlas has agreed to place two Boeing 747-400Fs into ACMI service on behalf of DHL on a three-year term starting March 29. Six Polar 747-400Fs already are scheduled to enter into express network DHL service in late October. Feb 28, 2008

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, parent of Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo, more than doubled its net income in 2007 to $132.4 million from the $59.8 million earned in the previous year. Full-year revenue increased 5.4% to $1.56 billion while expenses rose 6.8% to $1.41 billion, producing operating income of $154.8 million, up 1.6% over $152.3 million in 2006. Total block hr. lifted 0.2% to 133.5 million and scheduled service traffic escalated 8.9% to 1.61 billion RTMs on a 7.3% rise in capacity to 2.49 billion ATMs. RATM grew 0.4% to 26.4 cents but yield decreased 1.2% to 40.9 cents.
