International Aero Engines, Goodrich

FAA has granted Goodrich supplemental type certification for new, lightweight fan cowl design on the International Aero Engines V2500 nacelle. Goodrich collaborated with Bombardier Aerospace in Belfast, Northern Ireland on the design. Bombardier was responsible for the development of a resin transfer process to replace the fan cowl's honeycomb interior with a monolithic structure. Oct 12, 2008

JetAir, Innotech Aviation, Air Data

Innotech Aviation and Air Data have signed a partnership agreement that will see the JetAir Bio-Protection Systems (BPS) installed on the Global Express business jet aircraft at Innotech[sup.1]s Montreal center. The JetAir system protects passengers and crew from a wide range of air contaminants, both biological and chemical and is derived from technology used on the International Space Station. The BPS helps minimize vulnerability to infections like SARS, avian flu and even hostile agents such as anthrax. Oct 6, 2008

Korry Electronics, Honda

Korry Electronics will supply its cockpit control panels for the HondaJet. They will feature [sup.3]innovative human interface design[sup.2], which Korry says will complement the state-of-the-art glass flight deck. Each panel will integrate Korry[sup.1]s 5/8in LED switches with light plates and other components to provide a compact and ergonomically efficient solution. The deal, which starts this year, will include 12 control panels for each HondaJet. Oct 6, 2008

Korry has launched its Opticon low profile digital control technology for the cockpit that could save fuel through weight-reduction and air resistance. The new technology features compact solid-state switching and a digital interface to reduce weight. [sup.3]Our Opticon low-profile technology helps manufacturers design new-generation aircraft from the inside out to cut fuel use,[sup.2] says president Dan McFeeley.
