Embraer Delivers 48 Jets In 3rd Quarter Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer said on Friday it delivered 48 jets in the third quarter, bringing total deliveries so far in 2008 to 145. Oct 11, 2008

Embraer has had another incredible year with new product announcements and support offerings progressing pretty much on schedule. Both the Phenom 100 and the 300 are on display at the static park, with the 300 making its first appearance outside Brazil. Certification of the 100 is expected imminently, though at the time of going to press Affonso remained tight-lipped as to an exact date: [sup.3]We are very close to full certification, which will probably happen this month or next month. Embraer announced at the show today that it is broadening its Embraer Executive Care program (EEC) to include the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 jets. This gives owners of the very light and light jets the predictability of a fixed-cost maintenance support. Initially, the EEC program will offer coverage for in most of North America, South America and Europe. [sup.3]The EEC program has become such an important and popular part of the Legacy 600 ownership experience that we are now pleased to extend it to Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 customers,[sup.2] says Edson Carlos Mallaco, Embraer vice president, customer support and services, executive jets. Embraer has selected Elbit Systems to supply its Kollsman Enhanced Vision System (EVS II) for the Lineage 1000. It will be offered as an option in combination with Rockwell Collins[sup.1] Head-Up Guidance System. [sup.3]This system improves the capability of aircraft to execute precision and non-precision approaches and safely land in reduced visibility conditions,[sup.2] says Henrique Langenegger, vice president, programs executive Jets. Certification of EVS II is expected by 2010. Four Lineage 1000 jets are currently at PATS Aircraft Completions and the first aircraft is due for delivery at the end of the year. Oct 6, 2008

Embraer has selected the 5600E Head-Up Guidance System (HGS) from Rockwell Collins for its Lineage 1000 business jet. The HGS-5600E is a derivative of the existing HGS-5600, which is already certified for Cat III/Low Visibility Take Off (LVTO) capability on the Embraer 170 and 190 aircraft. Rockwell Collins has also received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and FAA Category III certification for its HGS-4860 on the Dassault Falcon 2000EX, joining the Falcon 900 and 200 family as the only Cat III-qualified fleet in this corporate market segment. Japan Airlines (JAL) has taken delivery of its first Embraer 170 regional jet and will be putting it into service early next year after carrying out crew training for several months. The Oneworld alliance carrier took delivery of the aircraft at a ceremony at Embraer's headquarters in Brazil on 3 October. It is the first of 10 that the airline has on firm order and the first E-170 that will be operated by a Japanese airline. Oct 6, 2008

Parker Aerospace announced several flight control deals for cutting-edge Embraer, Gulfstream and Cessna aircraft at NBAA, worth a combined total of around $2 billion. Parker has been selected by Embraer to supply the complete fly-by-wire flight control system and all hydraulic and fuel system components for the new Legacy 450/500 executive business jet aircraft. The contract is valued at an estimated $1.1bn. Oct 6, 2008
