Honeywell unveiled a completely redesigned cabin management system called Ovation Select at NBAA, and the company is calling it the [sup.3]ultimate total connectivity solution[sup.2] [sup.3]Ovation brings business jets the same quality all-digital HD systems that people have at home,[sup.2] says William Rowell, manager, technical sales, cabin management systems, Honeywell. Integrating entertainment and connectivity technology, Ovation Select delivers surround-sound audio, high definition video (HD1080p) and digital communication by Ethernet backbone throughout the cabin. Honeywell has incorporated all the digital interfaces needed to connect high-speed satellite communications and consumer electronics - including iPods, MP3 players, Apple TV and HD gaming systems, which plug in via convenient docking stations. Honeywell Aerospace predicts that corporate aircraft deliveries next year will reach a record 1,400 units with a value of $25 billion. Honeywell surveyed nearly 1,900 corporate flight departments before the credit crisis gripped Wall Street, but the company says it has seen no widespread order cancellations. Despite non-refundable deposits that can reach into the millions of dollars, however, some analysts caution of "a real risk of deferrals and cancellations over the next several quarters."
