Starwood Hotels & Resorts Hawaii will be the first to participate in ResortPort, Passport Online[sup.1]s latest upgrade. Passport Online provides e-commerce solutions to leisure travel agents, including websites and email programs. Passport Online had already been providing the updated content from major cruise lines, tour companies and wholesalers to more than 10,000 travel agency sites for their consumers; ResortPort is extending that capability to hotels and resorts. Through ResortPort, hotels and resorts can ensure consistent brand messaging in the travel agency sales channel; connect their rich media to thousands of travel agency websites; display rich media, messaging and promotions on agencies[sup.1] consumer websites; and stand out on a travel agency website and in wholesaler and tour operator offers. ResortPort is designed to increase bookings with higher ADRs generated by the travel agency channel. Starwood Hotels in Europe, W Hotels recently opened the W Istanbul and has announced new W Hotels underway in Athens, Barcelona, Istanbul, Milan and St Petersburg. In Asia, W has made public developments in Bangkok, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macao-Studio City, Shanghai and Yokohama. In Latin America, W has confirmed a hotel in Santiago and in the Middle East, and has announced properties in Amman, Doha, Dubai-Festival City and Dubai-The Palm. Starwood, owners of the Sheraton, Le Meridien, St Regis, Westin and The Luxury Collection brands is to introduce W Hotel boutique[sup.1] properties in both London and Manchester in 2010. Launched in 2006, W Hotels is what Starwood describes as a global lifestyle brand currently with 23 establishments worldwide, and a planned doubling in size by the time the British properties open. W London-Leicester Square will be built on the site of the former Swiss Centre building in the heart of Leicester Square, one of the finest landmark positions available in the West End.
