AerCap Holdings

AerCap Holdings announced a facility agreement with Calyon SA and "other banks and financial institutions" outlining terms under which European export credit agencies Coface (France), ECGD (UK) and Euler-Hermes (Germany) may guarantee up to $1.4 billion in financing. AerCap said the figure "represents a significant portion" of the financing required for an A330 order scheduled for delivery in 2009-12. According to AerCap, the loans are to be provided by a syndicate of banks led by Calyon acting as Global Arranger "and are subject to customary ECA requirements." Jan 7, 2009

Airstream International Group was named as exclusive agent to offer for sale or lease one BAe 146-200 and one -300 on behalf of Tronos Ltd. Aircraft most recently were operated by Flightline Ltd. on behalf of BA CityFlyer. Jan 8, 2009

British Airways CityFlyer, Embraer, Bombardier

British Airways CityFlyer says speed was a factor in the selection of the Embraer E-Jet over the Bombardier Q400 as it would have needed to order an additional aircraft if it had opted for the slower-cruising turboprop. The airline has ordered six Embraer 170s and five E-190SRs, with deliveries due to begin in September. Jan 8, 2009

GKN Aerospace, Airbus

GKN Aerospace yesterday said it will assume ownership and operational control of Airbus's former UK-based wing component and assemblies manufacturing plant at Filton. The move follows European regulatory approval and is projected to double GKN's order book for large civil aircraft structures. The Filton site has 1,500 employees and brings GKN's global workforce to 10,000. "This is just the first day in our long-term plan to grow the Filton operation and the capabilities of our team here to create a global center of excellence for wing structures serving our international customer base," GKN CEO Marcus Bryson said. RUAG Aerospace, Dornier, Air Cancun

German firm RUAG Aerospace has secured a commitment for up to five Dornier 228 NG turboprops from an undisclosed Australian customer. The Australian firm becomes RUAG's third customer for the re-vamped 19-seat turboprop, joining an undisclosed Asian company and Mexico's Air Cancun. Jan 9, 2009

SkyEurope Airlines, GECAS, Boeing

SkyEurope Airlines is experiencing delays at its central European bases after six of its 14 Boeing 737-700s were taken back by the lessor. The aircraft have gone back to US supplier GE Commercial Aviation Services (GECAS), which terminated the leases yesterday. Jan 9, 2009
