But Daymon, who plays a love interest in the film, had no idea what a big deal the movie was on his first day of filming.

"I just went along, and was in my trailer and then I saw the names of those involved - Kelly Brook, Neil Stuke, Tim Healy, Margi Clarke, Dervla Kirwan.

"I was like, `Wow, I can't believe this'. And, you know, it has to be one of the most fun shoots I've ever been on, and it's great for Newcastle too.

"I have high hopes for it. I'm really excited."

In the meantime, he is continuing filming Byker Grove - and merging his two careers in the process.

"Byker have used some of our costumes for this new series, which is great. They have these fantastic one-off episodes where they need outlandish gear.

"And I told them I knew just the person to help them out!"
