A sporty version of the UK's favourite family car has been released in the shape of the Ford Mondeo Titanium X.
However, despite the name, there is no titanium to be seen, although there is brushed chrome for some interior ornamentation and the gear knob.
The grey theme continues with Alcantara and leather seats in that colour and the newcomer is available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines.
The three-litre V6 petrol models cost pounds 22,080 in saloon and hatchback guise and pounds 1,000 more in estate form. The 2.2-litre turbodiesel versions are pounds 22,055 for the saloon and hatchback models, with the same premium for the estate.
Other standard features include a stylish exterior body kit and 17-inch alloy wheels. The suspension is lowered and there are folding door mirrors with illumination, tinted glass, headlamp washers and rain-sensing windscreen wipers.
Interior equipment includes a six-disc CD player and there is a Thatcham 1 alarm system fitted for enhanced anti-theft protection.
Ford says that the Mondeo Titanium X versions will be available for a limited period only.
