The best unintentional comedy on TV

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Feb 21, 2005

It is time the BBC sorted out subtitling of its Freeview shows ( even if this means the demise of the funniest thing currently on TV.

I have no idea how the words come up on screen so quickly but I suspect it is this speed which causes such hilarity.

Sometimes we get gibberish, sometimes embarrassing gaffes, but mostly side-splitting howlers.

I almost choked on Sunday while watching a Panorama Special on the engagement of Charles and Camilla, pictured. A Nicky Haslam was describing how Camilla had been a great support for the Prince. He said how well Camilla had succoured the Prince. Unfortunately, what came up on screen was suckered him. Oops!
