Hot-hatch Yaris
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Feb 10, 2006
A high performance version of the recently revised Yaris hatchback is due to be unveiled by Toyota.
Billed as a concept at next month's Geneva motor show, the potent Yaris has a 1.8-litre engine and modified suspension and body to improve handling and aerodynamics in line with the extra power. The Yaris Sport will be one of several concepts on display, which will also include a small SUV and a fuel-cell hybrid vehicle. The SUV is called the Urban Cruiser and is the brainchild of Toyota's European designers.
Two more advanced concepts are said to show how Toyota can minimise environmental impact.
The Fine-T is the next step in fuel-cell hybrid vehicles and offers the interior space of an Avensis within the approximate exterior dimensions of a Yaris.
