Rejected gifts are welcome

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Jan 12, 2006

Organisers with the British Red Cross Society are appealing for unwanted Christmas presents.

Buoyant sales of donated goods in the society's shops across the region in the run-up to Christmas has lowered stock levels.

Now it wants any unwanted festive gifts or good quality clothing to be donated to their worthy cause.

The society saw some of its best trading figures yet up to and over the Christmas period, with sales of its seasonal cards increasing by 45% on last year.

A full list of shops can be found on the British Red Cross Society's website, www.redcross.org.uk/yourarea
