FIRSTAID4SPORT.co.uk's qualified paramedic, Gemma Newlove gives us five top tips on things to pack in our suitcases:
1. Blisters always appear on long walks so invest in a blister pack to ensure you make it back.
2. The holiday heat causes dehydration, so always have a water bottle to hand. It is essential to drink water frequently throughout the day, to keep your body hydrated and working efficiently, so you make the most of your holiday.
3. Excited kids are very injury-prone, so make sure you pack the plasters for those cuts and grazes. Don't forget if you are heading for the pool, to make sure the plasters are waterproof.
4. Waterproof P20 sun lotion is an essential, apply once for factor 20 protection. It is advised that you try and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun during the midday hours and make sure children are as protected as possible with hats and T-shirts.
5. You don't want to literally be bitten by the holiday bug, so make sure you have a good insect repellent and sting spray to hand. You never know where or when those mosquitoes might appear.
