Trio on board

New board members have been appointed for a health organisation to start work this weekend.
The North East Strategic Health Authority will be officially launched on Saturday and three people have been appointed as non-executive directors.
Prof Peter Fidler, Prof Royston Stephens and Ruth Thompson will join chair Peter Carr and two other non-executive directors who will be appointed in the coming weeks.
The new organisation follows the merger of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham and Tees Valley SHAs.
Prof Fidler is vice-chancellor and chief executive of the University of Sunderland, solicitor Ruth Thompson, was a director of National Grid plc and Prof Stephens is dean of the School of Health at University of Northumbria.
