Your say: What do you think of people smoking in public?

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Sept 21, 2006

John Cooper, 24, engineer, Kenton: I really don't like the stink of smoke. The smell is horrible and it gets into your clothes.

Joyce Pattinson, 67, retired, Blakelaw: I used to smoke myself, so I don't mind it, except when I'm eating in a restaurant.

Daniel Wilbar, 20, student, Jesmond: It should be banned in pubs and restaurants. It's not fair on those who don't smoke.

Robert Jeffries, 35, plumber, Newcastle: I can't stand smoking. The smoke gets into your eyes and it's very unsociable.

Gareth Black, 18, student, Shieldfield: I'm from Scotland and it's much nicer in the pubs and clubs now they have banned smoking.

David Allen, 38, painter, Cruddas Park: I hope the Government bans it in public areas. Grainger Market is nicer now there isn't any smoking.
