Clothes you will glow in

In the first months of pregnancy not every woman feels like she's blooming which is why Laura Fields from Newcastle asked us to give her pal Diana Moore a makeover.
Diana, 23, from Fenham, Newcastle, who works for Cleveland police, is four months pregnant. Her partner is Mark Hall, 24, who is in the armed forces, and it's their first baby. But Diana admists she's struggling to find comfortable yet fashionable clothes. In addition, thanks to her hormones being in freefall, she admits she's not feeling her usual glamorous self.
Our first stop on a full day of pampering was the Y Salon in Eldon Gardens, where Angela and the team created a gorgeous, 60s-styled back-combed beehive, which they complemented with makeup from the Tigi Bedhead range, using a mixture of lime, teal and peach Cyberoptics eye colours.
We left the salon with Diana looking and feeling stunning, and headed to Miss Selfridge in Eldon Square. Serena and the team very kindly not only helped select some outfits but also set aside a private boutique changing area so that our model's day of comfort could continue.
As Diana is still very petite we wanted to give her a selection of clothes that are not only stylish but also comfortable and leave some room for expansion.
With the high street currently awash with smock-style dresses and stretchy leggings, we didn't even need to chose from maternity lines.
The first outfit Diana modelled is new in store, a beautiful olive-green silk all-over print V-neck dress with flattering frill sleeves and a waist tie. This is teamed with comfortable black leggings and a long gold Indian-inspired pendant.
Diana loved the next outfit, a cute denim-blue cotton jersey pinafore mini-dress layered over a cream marl bib-fronted cotton T-shirt. This was styled with black rouched leggings and lovely caramel patent leather and suede broderie anglais Mary Jane shoes, plus a chunky gold charm necklace. Our third outfit sees Diana in rouched leggings ( which are on offer in Miss Selfridge ( with a cream crochet smock top and a long gold chain with green teardrop gemstone pendant.
The fourth and final outfit is a complete change from Diana's usual look but she really liked it. This gorgeous 60s-inspired multi-coloured geometric long-sleeved jersey sack dress perfectly complements Diana's hair and make-up. This is worn with black leggings, as before, and with Royal blue patent leather round-toe Mary Janes and a long silver ball pendant.
Diana had a great day and loved being pampered and preened and now has some great ideas for dressing her ever-growing bump!
* With thanks to Angela Lowery and Judith at Y Salon; Serena, Cerise and the team at Miss Selfridge; and David Milburn and the staff at Barker and Stonehouse, where the shoot took place.
