Communities minister Ruth Kelly wants more information about a major North East regeneration scheme.
She has written to Sunderland arc for more details of its outline planning application to redevelop the city's Vaux brewery site before she can decide on the outcome of a public inquiry.
But supermarket giant Tesco, which owns the site and wants to develop its own rival scheme, is concerned about the request.
