Uni to get a new home

A UNIVERSITY is relocating its Tyneside operation to a pounds 300m new development.
The Open University has bought a 19,500 sq ft office building at the Baltic Business Quarter by the Tyne in Gateshead.
All 65 Open University staff on Tyneside will move from the Regent Centre in Gosforth to the new building.
It will be called Chalk Hill Place and construction work will begin in the next few weeks.It will be ready in July next year.
David Knight, the regional director of the Open University in the North East, said: "This is a very exciting move for us.
"One huge bonus will be having Gateshead College next door.The synergy between us should be immensely beneficial."
Gateshead Council leader Mick Henry said: "We are delighted that the OU has chosen the Baltic Business Quarter, which is on track to be one of the region's most popular business locations."
