Pornography debate

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), March 9, 2007

A debate will be sparked at a North East university next week as it hosts a conference asking should downloading extreme pornography be illegal?

The event at Durham University coincides with the fourth anniversary of the suspected murder of a woman by a user of extreme pornography, a term which includes necrophilia, bestiality and sexual acts which may result in death or disability.

As a result, human rights experts, feminists, councils and the police are meeting on Thursday to debate whether accessing images of extreme pornography should be made illegal.
