TROUBLE DECKER; Lost bus driver took passengers on ride of destruction down narrow lane

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), April 22, 2008

A BUS driver took a wrong turn and left a trail of destruction along a series of back alleys.

Peter Barnes, 63, mistakenly turned off the main road and squeezed his double-decker down the tight streets.

Carrying a bus-load of passengers, he crashed into a Toyota Corolla, a Ford Escort and a Ford Focus before hitting a tree.

Now Barnes has appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court for his driving escapade.
