Speeding warning
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), April 23, 2008
AN ENGINEER in a hurry to get to his job in Aberdeen was clocked at speeds of more than 90mph by police.
But former Royal Marine Tristan Gallagher kept his licence when he appeared before magistrates at South East Northumberland Law Courts in Bedlington.
Gallagher, 36, of Bel-grave Gardens, South Shields, pleaded guilty to speeding on a 60mph stretch of the A697.
Gallagher, who already had three penalty points on his licence, was told the magistrates had considered disqualification but had decided to impose six points, taking his total to nine.
He was warned another speeding offence would mean a ban. He was also fined pounds 500 and ordered to pay pounds 65 costs.
