fashion: Providing deserved treat for a busy mum; At the Chronicle, we know there is no job more hectic than being a mum, so this week SUHAINE STEVENS organised a special makeover for a hard-working mother of three gorgeous girls
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), April 26, 2008
Byline: SUHAINE STEVENS
WENDY O'Regan, 43, from Gateshead, is mum to five year - old Georgia, eight-year-old Charlotte and 13-year-old Emily - all of who keep her very busy.
We thought Wendy deserved a relaxing day of pampering and we started at Soul Hair Salon on Saville Row.
Wendy naturally has very curly hair, but stylist Lisa Dando decided to blow dry it straight.
She then used GHD straighteners to put loose curls back into it. Lisa finished off with a touch of Redken glass serum to define the curl and give shine.
After that, we headed along to the Yves Saint Laurent counter in Fenwick for some handy hints on the latest make-up trends.
Make-up artist Stephanie Bowman used Perfect Touch Foundation for a flawless look and plum tones to enhance Wendy's blue eyes.
This glamorous look was finished with some False Lash mascara.
Now all we needed were a few outfits. We visited John Lewis in Eldon Square to see what their latest ranges offered.
For our first, we selected a beige and cream striped linen suit which we teamed with a white Tshirt with chocolate bead detailing on the neckline.
We accessorised with a wide brown belt and a cream shell necklace. The suit looked fabulous as the faint stripe flattered Wendy's figure.
Next, Wendy modelled a beautiful metallic silver and rose silk top and a chic pair of cream straight-cut evening trousers.
We added a pair of cream shoes to create an elegant look - perfect for drinks or a romantic meal.
Finally, we selected a sophisticated evening dress with a similar print to the top in the previous outfit, because Wendy loved the colours and feel of the fabric.
The dress had a glamorous fishtail hem and all we needed to finish it off was a pair of cream heels and some jewellery.
