Pair jailed

TWO men who were armed with knives when arrested for burgling flats have been jailed.
Paul Johnson, 22, and Thomas Adair, 21, were caught leaving Malvern Villas, Gilesgate, Durham, shortly after midnight on February 7, Durham Crown Court was told.
PC Sarah Hindmarsh received a 2cm cut to the knee in a struggle to arrest Johnson. Laptops, digital camera, DVD, MP3 players and currency were taken.
Adair, of The Moorlands, and Johnson, of Cooper Square, both Gilesgate, each admitted three burglary charges, plus possession of a blad-ed weapon in public. Johnson also admitted assault with intent to resist arrest and was jailed for three years and nine months.
Adair was jailed for three years and six months.
