UNCLAIMED bikes held by police are being recycled for youngsters.
Northumbria Police officers handed over five bikes which were either lost or stolen and have never been claimed from.
The Stepping Stones project, run by Your Homes Newcastle to support homeless young people, has received the cycles.
PC Paul Curry, who organised the handover, said: "We're delighted to help such an important organisation which supports those who haven't had the best start to life.
