RAOB and the Comrades in share of spoils; Synergy Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League; SUNDAY LEAGUE REPORTS AS A NEW SEASON GETS INTO FULL SWING

THE new league programme kicked off with goals aplenty.

In the Premier Division there was a 12-goal clash between Ashington RAOB and Blyth Comrades which finished 6-6.

Goals for RAOB came from Young (3) and one each for Dales, Taylor and Richies, with Long (3), Malloy (2) and Huck notching for the Comrades.

In the only other Premier Division game played, Cullercoats CPS lost 3-2 against Whitley Bay Rockcliffe Arms.

Craig Hodgson scored for Cullercoats, Storey and Pattie for Rockcliffe.

In the First Division, New Delaval and Newsham overcame Bebside 3-1.

Mason notched for Bebside and Fraser bagged all of Newsham's strikes.

Kitty Brewster beat South Beach Community Centre 5-2, with Hodgkins, Cook, Ridley, Brosnen and Humphries on target, the goals for the Beach from McClutchean and Alan Hogg.

Whitley Bay Venture and White House shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

Thompson bagged both for the Venture, while White House's tally came courtesy of Taylor and Julian.

In the Second Division, newcomers Blyth Percy Arms disposed of Big Club 7-0.

Rylett (3), Hyman, Aldis, Liddell and McGarry were the players on target for Percy.

Stephen Elsey scored all four goals for Royal Tavern in their victory against Waterloo SC.

Strikes for the Waterloo came from Lock, Summers and Hamilton.

In the Shields derby, The Gunner accounted for Chirton 4-1.

Noon (3) and Langlands were on target for the Gunner, Riley responding for the Chirton.

Appleby nabbed goals for Bedlington Grapes in their 3-2 triumph over North Shields Oddfellows.

High Street lost 6-2 at home to The Northern Social Club.

Alan and Anthony Goldie were on the mark for the Street, Northern's finishes courtesy of Scott Murray (3), M Hogg (2) and C Hogg.

Monkseaton Black Horse triumphed 2-0 against Blyth Pullman, Thompson and Clark scoring the goals.

In the David Crichton Cup, Blyth Sea Horse beat Ashington Mortimer 6-2.

On Tuesday night, Blyth Town Sunday saw off Cramlington Brockwell Celtic 8-1.

Efforts for the Town came from Fuller (4) with and one each from Robinson, Blades, Burt and Hickson.

The Celtic reply came from W eightmen.
