Plot charge

THREE men were appearing in court today charged over an alleged plot to assassinate the Prime Minister.
The trio were arrested at Manchester Airport and in Accrington, Lancashire, on August 14 and are due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London.
Ishaq Kanmi, 22, of Cromwell Street, Blackburn, Lancashire, is charged with soliciting murder, belonging or professing to belong to al Qaeda, inviting support for al Qaeda, and dissemination of terrorist publications.
Brothers Abbas Iqbal, 23, and Ilyas Iqbal, 21, both of Percival Street, Blackburn, are both charged with related crimes.
Police are continuing to question two other men in relation to the alleged assassination plot.
