Caddy with all the extras

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England),  August 8, 2008

Byline: By STEVE HUGHES

CADILLAC will be offering just two optional extras on its new CTS saloons when they go on sale in September.

The company says that the specification of the cars is so lavish that only a large sunroof and wooden interior trim will be nonstandard.

The sunroof which covers almost three quarters of the entire roof and costs pounds 1,200 while the choice of Sapele Pommele wood finish on the instrument panel, door trims and centre console adds a further pounds 495.

Two engine sizes will be available, both petrol V6s, with either 3.6-litre or 2.8 capacity.

The 3.6-litre model has all of the features of the 2.8 but also comes with paddle shift controls for the six-speed automatic transmission, self-levelling rear suspension, chrome finish for the 18-inch alloy wheels, dual chrometipped exhaust tail pipes and voice activation for the 'infotainment' system.

Prices are pounds 26,995 for the 2.8-litre model and pounds 32,995 for the 3.6.

Next year will see the arrival of a 2.9-litre V6 direct-injection turbo-diesel with an estimated output of 250bhp.
