ALMOST pounds 34,000 was raised for the Red Cross China Earthquake Appeal at a restaurant in Newcastle.
Anne and Peter Cheng, the owners of Palace Garden, in Stowell Street, organised three fundraising banquets in aid of the victims of the devastating earthquake that killed more than 70,000 on May 12.
The evenings included raffles, auctions and a host of fundraising events.
