Fiesta Zetec unveiled
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), July 18, 2008
A SPORTY new version of the Ford Fiesta will be revealed at the British Motor Show in London next week and is due to go on sale in the autumn.
The Zetec S model will join the new Fiesta line-up from launch, alongside the ultra-economical ECOnetic version. Despite the current focus on economy, Ford believes there will continue to be a strong demand for sporty models, especially as the Zetec S is capable of up to 67mpg in diesel guise.
In petrol form it uses a new 120bhp engine endowing the car with acceleration to 60mph in 9.9 seconds and a top speed of 120mph.
Despite a power hike of 20bhp over the previous 1.6-litre model the CO2 figure is lower at 139g/km and economy is improved at 48mpg. Prices will be announced at the show.
