Crane lifts Primrose to victory; Apollo Doors Gateshead Youth League

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), March 29, 2008

DARREN CRANE was in devastating form for Primrose when they rattled up double figures against Whickham Fellside in the Under-14 Division.

Crane smashed half of the Primrose goals in their 10-1 away win, with Jack Spence and James Gilbert helping themselves to two goals each.

Not far behind were Redheugh Boys' Club, who were 9-0 victors at home to Felling, when both Joe McIntosh and Kieron Featherstone grabbed hat-tricks.

Joe Bullock scored twice in the Under-15 Division for Cleveland Hall as they just edged out Whickham Fellside 3-2.

Stephen Waddle was another of the two-goal brigade as he helped Redheugh Whites beat Blaydon 4-2.

Winlaton hit Rutherfords for six in the Under-11 Division with George Longstaff starring with a hat-trick.

In the Chairman's Cup, Tony Fox was too cute for Sapipa when he netted twice for Leam Rangers in their 4-2 away win.

Daniel Jackson's hat-trick paved the way for Prudhoe's 4-1 Under-12 success at home to Clara Vale.

Rees Harbottle smashed a hat-trick for Ryton, but still ended up on the losing side as they went down 5-3 at home to Redheugh, for whom Stephen Watson also put away a hat-trick.

There was also a hat-trick for Ryan Hanratty in Rutherford's 8-0 win at Burnopfield. Adam Atkins also scored twice.
