Memorabilia Sold For Charity

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), May 20, 2008

A DEVOTED fan of pop star Shayne Ward is putting precious memorabilia under the hammer for charity.

Julie Nelson-Littleproud, who has been following Shayne since his X-Factor days, counts herself among the singer's biggest fans.

But the 43-year-old is preparing to put some of her treasured signed souvenirs up for auction, in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Julie, from Chester-le-Street, who is often to be found in the front row at Shayne concerts, is holding the online auction in memory of her dad Alan Nelson, who died of cancer in January.

She said: "After dad's illness I wanted to do something to support other people with cancer and this seemed like a great way to raise money to help Marie Curie Cancer Care support families in the region.

"Shayne knows what I am doing and the reasons why and he has been hugely supportive."

Local Marie Curie fundraiser Suzanne McKen-na said: "We are very grateful to Julie for supporting our work in this unusual way.'
