fashion: Getting the celebrity treatment; Most young girls dream of living the celebrity lifestyle. SUHAINE STEVENS gives one teenager a taste of the high life in the fashion department

BEAUTIFUL clothes, make-up artists and hair stylists on call - oh to be a celebrity.

Kerri Kennedy, 13, from Heaton, won a competition in conjunction with the Mint Campaign, which encourages young people to make the most of their youth.

As part of her prize, Kerri received pounds 300 of gift vouchers to go on a spending spree.

Kerri is in Year 8 at Heaton Manor school and brought along Natalie Oldham, 13, from Byker, to enjoy the experience.

To start off the pampering we headed along to Soul Hair Salon on Saville Row, Newcastle.

Stylist Kim decided that curls would be the order of the day.

Kim created beautiful tumbling curls in Natalie's hair and cute tight curls in Kerri's. Kim finished off both styles with a touch of shine spray to keep the curls firmly in place.

For the girls' makeover we opted to use MAC Cosmetics. For Kerri we chose a silver grey eyeshadow with a metallic blue eyeliner.

We added a hint of pink blush and lipgloss to give a young, modern look. For Natalie we chose a grey blue eye-shadow with a mid-blue eye-liner to emphasise her eyes. A touch of lip gloss finished off the look.

Kerri loves shopping in Quiz as their clothes are always bright, fun and feminine. We headed along to their Eldon Square store to kick-start Kerri's shopping spree.

For our first outfit Kerri chose a chic ruffle blouse with a cute metallic silver thread waistcoat. We teamed this with a pair of white skinny jeans and some heels.

Floral prints are a key look this season so we selected a pretty skirt, with a black bow detail ruffled top and a white cotton ruched jacket for her second outfit. We added a pair of silver pumps.

For the shoot Natalie wore an elegant satin dress in vertical stripes of grey, cream and black. All we had to do was add a pair of silver heels.

After selecting the clothes we headed down to the Copthorne Hotel where the girls enjoyed a delicious lunch in Harry's Restaurant before getting ready for their fashion shoot.

The day culminated in a limo ride to an under 18's disco.

Kerri said: "I've bought a couple of gorgeous dresses which I can wear for special occasions. It was great!"
