Blaze shock
Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Nov 13, 2008
A WOMAN was left shocked after her car burst into flames.
She leapt from her Peugeot 206 when it caught fire in the car park of McDonald's in Blaydon, near Gateshead.
The blaze broke out at 9.30pm when it is believed a power steering pipe burst and fluid got onto the hot exhaust. Tyne and Wear Fire Service say the woman was unhurt and there was no damage to any other vehicles.
Meanwhile, a stolen van was also found on fire in a Tyneside pub car park. The vehicle was destroyed in last night's blaze at the Old Fox pub on Carlisle Street, Felling, Gateshead.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 7.25pm. It's suspected the fire was started deliberately and police are investigating.
