Street fighters

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Oct 11, 2008

A MAN knifed in the head is one of five people arrested and bailed on suspicion of affray in a former Northumberland pit village.

The arrests followed a disturbance in Lynemouth, near Morpeth, shortly after midnight on Thursday.

Paramedics and police, including the force helicopter, were called to the area between Guildford Square and Ingleby Terrace when a disturbance involving a number of men broke out.

During the disturbance a 21-year-old man suffered a suspected knife injury.

Four men were arrested at the time of the attack and later they and the injured man were given police bail on suspicion of causing an affray.

All five were granted bail until January 8.
