World Tonight: Rates to fall

INTEREST rates are set to be slashed again as soon as next month as the Bank of England attempts to stave off a deep recession, it was predicted today.

The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee will cut borrowing costs by 0.5% in successive months for the first time in a decade, many economists said.
