BURRADON and New Fordley defeated Blyth Sports and Social Club 2-0 in the final of the David Crichton Cup.
Burradon had the better of the early exchanges, and it was no surprise when they took the lead after 10 minutes.
They went 2-0 ahead 10 minutes later and then had their goalkeeper to thank for a good save from a dipping shot just before the break.
Burradon should have increased their lead midway through the second half, but again the Burradon goalkeeper pulled off a point-blank save as Sports Club put in a late surge. Goals for Burradon were scored by Steven Howe and Michael Chilton.
In round two of the Alan Davison Cup there were several close games.
High Street lost to Royal Tavern 4-3, Stephen Elsey scoring all four goals. High Street's tally came from Stephen Brown, Ryan Wigham and Anthony Goldie.
Blyth Seahorse scored five without reply against the Percy Arms.
Scoring for Seahorse were Chris Johnson, David Archbold, Brian Gabbitas and Martyn Hepple (2).
Blyth Pullman went down 3-0 at home to Monkseaton Black Horse. Netting for the Black Horse were James Mitcheson and Alan Clark (2).
A double from John Amos was just enough for the Albert to beat The Northern Ashington 2-1, Scott Murray notching for the Northern.
Whitley Bay Cibos went through to the next round with a 5-3 success against Blyth Kitty Brewster.
Strikes for Cibos came from James Novak, Chris Woolley, James Mobberley, Nick Anderson and Mark Nicholson.
Replying for the Kitty were Sean Anderson, Craig Cook and Chris McCartney.
Ashington Mortimer just held on to beat the Eagle 3-2.
On target for the Mortimer were Brian Henderson (2) and Trevor Newman, efforts for the Eagle from Dixie Fowler and John Morran.
White House Ashington defeated Hunting Lodge 5-3, The White House counters came from Stephen Fry, Stephen Rennison, Sam Robinson and Peter Taylor (2).
On target for the Hunting Lodge were Keith Kennedy (2) and Alastair Nichol.
Rockcliffe Arms just overcame North Shields Gunner 2-1 thanks to finishes from Simon Gourlay and Jonny Storey.
In the First Division, South Beach ran out 5-3 winners at home to New Hartley Hastings.
A hat-trick from John Rutherford and notches from Mitchell Fawcus and John French for South Beach with Michael French, Andrew Farrier and Ryan Collier netting for the Hastings.
