A LOW- emission city car is to be unveiled by Nissan at next month's Paris Motor Show.
The Pixo is a micro car, smaller than a Chevrolet Matiz, and powered by a one-litre, threecylinder engine.
It will be built in India, in collaboration with Suzuki, and is due to go on sale before the middle of next year.
Specification and prices are still to be announced, but Nissan says the Pixo will be a value-for-money eco-car, with low fuel consumption and emissions.
It uses lightweight construction and is a five door, fourseater which can be fitted with a four-speed automatic gearbox.
The Pixo will be shown at Paris alongside an electronic concept vehicle called the Nuvu and new-look version of the Washington Nissan Note compact MPV, which has a restyled front and rear as well as interior changes to make the dashboard easier to read.
It also has improved suspension and a new 1.5-litre diesel engine, said to have CO2 emissions of 119g/km. A 1.4- litre petrol version of the Note, with emissions of 139g/km, is due on sale in October.
