News Brief: Taking the big plunge

Evening Chronicle (Newcastle, England), Sept 13, 2008

ACCOUNTANTS took part in a daring charity abseil. Staff at HW Chartered Accountants plucked up the courage to abseil down the Hilton Hotel, Gates head, to raise money for Disability North. Six brave members of the HW audit team volunteered to jump off two balconies at the hotel.

They managed to raise a combined total of pounds 825 and are still raising more every day.

Disability North is a charity that aims to promote independence and choice for disabled people. They have a centre for information, guidance and help which needs pounds 800,000 a year to operate.
